I am thinking... about how we can retro fit our house to be more sustainable.
I am thankful... for the beautiful weather today... great for getting washing dry...
In the kitchen... the crockpot is not on today.... I think we will have oven baked fish and 3 veg.
I am creating... a cot quilt for my grand daughter....

I just was sad that I didn't have a window facing north to the sunlight (yes it's north down under). So I thought I'd paint the dresser pink to brighten the kitchen and compensate for the lack of sunlight. It all started with a few paint chips- what shade of pink? The Vintage Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10905576525653700066noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394214705270762415.post-77402430544131075762010-09-16T12:45:00.000-07:002010-09-16T13:23:05.265-07:00Tea, toast and Spring flowersOn Monday morning I took my Royal Albert 'sweet violets' cup and matched it up with a mauve 'op shop find' $3 Royal Albert 'rainbow' mauve 'tennis' plate. I find tennis plates very convenient for tea and toast, or tea and biscuit. It was warm enough to sit on the verandah by 11am for morning tea and then I couldn't help but wander around the garden and take some photos of the garden. I usually do this around morning tea time. Last week I chose this beautiful set by Royal Albert, called Memory Lane. The Vintage Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10905576525653700066noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394214705270762415.post-2856662762404404282010-05-19T23:18:00.001-07:002010-05-19T23:29:34.002-07:00Getting Organised!Yeh!! Finally after 7 years I have matching baskets on the open kitchen shelves. I've smiled each morning this week when I've walked into the kitchen and reached for a china mug for that first cup of tea. I only had 2 baskets that matched before, but Kmart had ones, very similiar to my matching ones, for only $10 each last week.So Voila!!The Vintage Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10905576525653700066noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394214705270762415.post-45703453748949746122010-05-11T20:33:00.000-07:002010-05-11T20:43:07.281-07:00Just had to show you my new faux cupcakes that arrived today from Mandii at Shabby Vintage DreamsThe Vintage Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10905576525653700066noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394214705270762415.post-17980108080705215552010-05-10T13:53:00.000-07:002010-05-11T15:27:41.253-07:00Tea for threeMother's Day breakfastMy friend and I getting ready, unfortunately we missed a snap of number three.Tea for threeThe Vintage Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10905576525653700066noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394214705270762415.post-33532926765413747002010-05-06T20:52:00.000-07:002010-05-06T21:07:57.719-07:00Impromptu Tea for threeSome of us are as mad as a hatter!Looking forward to our community morning tea fundraiser later in May.The Vintage Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10905576525653700066noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394214705270762415.post-18902911583664846812010-05-05T00:01:00.000-07:002010-05-05T00:10:17.835-07:00Another car Finally after 2 months of having a car that didn't work we were able to get this little beauty on the weekend.
